Connectivity done properly. See how we work.
From the first assessment to the final network test, our approach is built around understanding the property, using the right technology and leaving everything clean, discreet and working as it should.

Start With the Assessment
Every successful Starlink and Wi-Fi installation begins with a thorough site assessment. Before any equipment is mounted or cables are routed, we visit the property to understand the specific connectivity challenges. This means checking Starlink dish visibility to the southern sky, evaluating existing cabling and network infrastructure, testing current Wi-Fi coverage, and understanding how the household or business actually uses the internet. Rural properties in Andalucía often have thick walls, multiple buildings, outdoor areas and long distances between the main house and outbuildings — all of which affect the final design. The assessment ensures we recommend only what the property genuinely needs.
What the Assessment Covers
During a typical site assessment, the engineer evaluates several key areas before recommending a solution or providing a quote.
- Starlink visibility: Confirming the dish has a clear view of the satellite constellation, checking for obstructions from trees, buildings or terrain.
- Existing infrastructure: Reviewing current router performance, cable condition, network sockets and any existing access points to determine what can be reused.
- Wi-Fi coverage: Walking the property to identify dead zones, weak-signal areas and locations where coverage is needed — including terraces, pool areas, gardens and outbuildings.
- Property usage: Understanding how many people use the network, what devices are connected, and whether there are CCTV systems, smart-home devices or home offices requiring reliable bandwidth.
- Cable routing: Planning the most discreet path from the dish location to the router, using existing conduits where possible to avoid unnecessary drilling.
The assessment typically takes between one and two hours. After the visit, we provide a clear recommendation with a transparent quote — no pressure, no unnecessary equipment.
Behind the Installation
A professional Starlink installation is about far more than mounting a dish on a roof. This video takes you behind the scenes of a real installation in Marbella, showing the care and precision that goes into every project. From routing cables discreetly through existing conduits to weatherproofing external connections, every step is carried out with the finished appearance of the property in mind. In high-end homes along the Costa del Sol, the technology should complement the property rather than dominate it. That means using existing infrastructure wherever possible, protecting finished surfaces during installation, and leaving everything looking as though very little has happened — even when a great deal of work has taken place behind the scenes.
The Installation Process
A typical professional installation follows several stages, each carried out with care and attention to the finished appearance of the property.
- Dish mounting: The Starlink dish is positioned with a clear view of the southern sky, mounted securely on the roof, wall or a dedicated pole. The position is chosen to minimise visible cabling while maintaining optimal satellite visibility.
- Cable routing: The cable is run from the dish to the router using the most discreet path available. Where possible, existing conduits and service routes are used to avoid visible trunking or surface-mounted cables.
- Weatherproofing: All external connections are sealed against rain and UV degradation, using weather-resistant enclosures designed for the Andalucían climate.
- Network setup: The Starlink router is configured and tested, and any additional networking equipment — mesh units, access points, switches — is integrated and configured.
- Wi-Fi optimisation: Coverage is tested throughout the property, with access points positioned to eliminate dead zones and ensure seamless roaming between areas.
- Final testing: Speed tests are run at multiple locations, the installation is documented, and the customer is shown how everything works before the engineer leaves.
“When we leave, visually, you should barely know we’ve been there.”
This Is Alborán Connect
Alborán Connect grew from an engineering approach rather than a traditional telecoms sales model. In this video, we explain how that background shapes every project we take on across Andalucía and southern Spain. From the initial assessment through to the finished installation, the focus is always on understanding the property, identifying the real connectivity problem and building a solution that will work reliably for years to come. Starlink may provide the internet connection, but the complete solution often includes wired networking, mesh Wi-Fi, professional access points, outdoor coverage, long-range wireless links between buildings and integration with existing CCTV or smart-home systems. The video is available in both English and Spanish, reflecting the communities we serve across the Costa del Sol, Axarquía, Costa Tropical and rural Andalucía.
Our Approach — English
Video Summary
Alborán Connect was founded on an engineering-led approach to connectivity. Alan's background in electrical and process engineering in the UK — including work in demanding environments for Avon Cosmetics and Amazon — still influences how every project is approached today.
The core philosophy is simple: assess first, understand the system, find the real problem and build the right solution. This means we never recommend equipment that isn't needed, and we always look for the root cause before suggesting a fix.
Starlink is often the internet source, but the finished solution can include wired networking, mesh Wi-Fi, professional access points, outdoor coverage, long-range wireless links, CCTV integration and existing smart-home infrastructure. Every property is different, and the solution is always tailored to the specific building, its usage and the coverage needed.
Support doesn't end when the installation is finished. We remain available for follow-up questions, adjustments and ongoing network management.
